The normal skirting length from side to side
is about 26". The youth cut is about
21". This is suited for people 5'3"
and under and is more proportional to a person
with a shorter inseam. The Y/C allows more
swing in the stirrups. Also, there is less
saddle skirting going down the rider's legs.
This allows for better contact with the horse
at the knee area just where the rider likes
to grip with the knees.
